Kayla Johnson scored 20 points as Colfax bounced back from a tough quarterfinal loss to beat Connell 63-36 on Friday in the Class 1A girls state tournament consolation bracket.

Johnson sank 8 of 10 shots and 4 of 6 free throws in the game that effectively was over after Colfax jumped out to a 20-5 lead after the first quarter.

Jordan Harazin added nine points and six steals for the Bulldogs (23-5), who will play for fourth and seventh places against Nooksack Valley at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Debbie Molsbarger led Connell (18-8) with 10 points.

The Bulldogs shot 45 percent (21 of 47) for the game to Connell's 40 percent (15 of 38).
