James Glenn poured in a game-high 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lift Odessa past North River 52-37 on Thursday in the Class 1B boys state tournament.

Bryce Todd added 11 points and Travis Todd 10 for the Tigers, who improved to 12-11. North River, a sentimental tournament favorite with only nine boys in the school, ended its year at 13-10.

Odessa raced out to a 12-5 lead after the first quarter, and North River wasn't able to get any closer than the 22-18 halftime score.

Jeff Oliver paced the Mustangs with 14 points, and teammate Loren Pickering chipped in 12 points and pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds.

The Mustangs were hurt by 25 turnovers, while Odessa's defense racked up 12 steals, including five by Glenn.
