Raymond Ostlie sparked a 14-6 run to close the game with a four-point play, as Cusick went on to eliminate Lopez, 61-54, from the Class 1B boys state tournament Thursday.

Ostlie, who scored a team-high 17 points, sank the second of his two 3-pointers to give the Panthers (18-6) a 50-48 lead with 4:50 to play. He was fouled on the shot, and converted the free throw. Lopez never was able to pull closer the rest of the way.

Teammate Spencer Shanholtzer chipped in 15 points, and Louie Bluff pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.

Jordan Smith, who averages nearly 35 points a game, scored 21 to lead the Lobos, who ended their year at 18-4.

Cusick shot 46.7 percent (21 of 45) for the game, including 52 percent (13 of 25) in the first half. Lopez made just 31.6 percent (18 of 57) of its shots in the contest.
