 Tekoa gains semis, 48-32

Cook pours in 17 points to lead Nighthawks

Kelly Cook scored 17 points to lead Tekoa-Oakesdale to a 48-32 quarterfinal win over Lake Quinault in the Class 1B boys state basketball tournament Thursday.

The Nighthawks (18-9) will face Moses Lake Christian in Friday's 7:30 p.m. semifinal.

Cook had 12 of his points in the first half, when T-O jumped out to a 25-18 halftime lead.

T-O converted 35.8 percent of its shots (19 of 53) to the Elks' 23.5 percent (12 of 51).

Casey Elder led LQ (19-4) with 18 points and eight rebounds.
