Freshman Tyler Edwards sank four free throws in the final 20 seconds to seal Cusick's 49-45 consolation-round victory over Lummi on Friday in the Class 1B boys state tournament.

Edwards finished with a game-high 15 points, and Spencer Shanholtzer, who chipped in 10, converted two free throws with 2:46 to play that gave the Panthers the lead for good, 44-42.

Six of Cusick's final eight points came from the free-throw line.

The win pushes the Panthers (19-6) into Saturday's 9 a.m. contest for fifth place against Liberty Christian, and ensures the team its first 1B state trophy.

David James and Jordan Wilson each scored 10 points for Lummi, which finished at 13-10. Wilson also had eight rebounds.
