Eagles grab fourth place

Winters leads St. John-Endicott's 56-30 win over Pateros

Alli Winters scored 15 points as St. John-Endicott rolled to fourth place in the Class 1B girls state tournament with a 56-30 win over Pateros on Saturday.

Winters canned three 3-pointers, with two in the first half as the Eagles raced out to a 16-8 lead after one quarter. They put the game away with a 13-2 run in the third period.

St. John-Endicott won its 10th trophy in 15 appearances. The Eagles finished the year at 15-14.

Kelsey Simon and Kelly Van Lith each added 10 points for the winners, and Van Lith grabbed eight of the Eagles’ 46 rebounds, added two assists, two blocks and a steal.

Clara Hull led Pateros (19-7) with 14 points and six rebounds, and Michelle Bruno also had six rebounds.

The Nannies' seventh-place trophy is the school's 10th in 10 state trips.
