 Entiat posts a quick win

Tigers race to big early lead, top Lions 55-39

Taylor Montgomery scored a game-high 18 points to lead fourth-ranked Entiat past North Sound Christian 55-39 on Wednesday in the first round of the Class 1B girls state tournament.

Entiat (21-2) raced out to a 24-9 lead after the first quarter and was never seriously challenged after that.

Deanna Bahena scored 13 points and Shawnee Ledbetter added 12 for the Tigers, who shot 41 percent (25 of 61) to the Lions’ 28 percent (14 of 50).

Melissa Castor led North Sound Christian (14-9) with 15 points, and teammate Elyse Bunger pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds.
