SEATTLE -- Brittany Quick had 15 points, eight in the fourth quarter, and Hanford turned back a rally by West Valley of Yakima for a 51-41 win and third place in the Class 3A girls state tournament on Saturday.

Quick had five points during a 9-2 scoring run that helped the Falcons (22-7) snap a 31-all tie late in the third quarter and take a 40-33 lead early in the fourth.

The trophy was Hanford's 11th overall, but its first since 1997 when it placed eighth.

West Valley finished 19-11 and took home the sixth-place trophy. It also was the 11th trophy for the Yakima school after last year's third-place finish.

Katelin Sillery led the Rams with 19 points, and made it a double-double with 10 rebounds. Haley Curtis added 11.

Hanford had a 30-19 lead at halftime. The Falcons saw West Valley score the first nine points of the third quarter and climb back into a 31-all tie on a three-point play by Curtis at the 3:18 mark.

But Kristin Barott drained a 3-pointer with 1:33 left in the third — Hanfords only field goal of the quarter — to take a 34-31 lead into the fourth. Except for the one tie, Falcons led from start to finish.
