 PT rallies for OT win

McClelland lifts Redskins to 58-50 quarterfinal victory

Parker McClelland scored six of his game-high 25 points in overtime as Port Townsend rallied back for a 58-50 victory over Seattle Academy on Thursday in the Class 1A boys state quarterfinals.

McClelland poured in 19 of his points in the second half, when the Redskins (21-3) erased a 17-point halftime deficit.

A 3-pointer from Elan Solvik gave PT its first lead, 39-37, with 6:53 to play in regulation. He hit another trey with 3:25 to play in the quarter that gave PT a 47-44 lead, but the Cards' Adrian Brandon tied the game on a 3-point play with 2:16 to play. Neither team scored again in regulation.

SA (14-12) scored the first two points in overtime before PT rolled off the next 11 points.

Solvik finished with 11 points.

Brandon led the Cards with 19 points and Rian Claxton had 11.
