Winlock to play for fifth

Davis' 14 points helps Cardinals to 48-38 win over Burbank

Jordan Davis scored 14 points to lead fifth-ranked Winlock ousted Burbank from the Class 1A boys state tournament with a 48-38 consolation victory Friday.

The win sends the Cardinals (23-3) into Saturday's 10 a.m. game for fifth place.

Jake Brown added 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, and Nathan Booth chipped in 13 points. Winlock put the game away with a 25-11 run over the second and third quarters.

The Cards shot 40 percent (18 of 45) for the game, while Burbank hit 35 percent (13 of 37). But the Coyotes made just 5 of 25 shots in the second half.

Nick Byrd led Burbank with 20 points and seven rebounds. He made 6 of 18 shots, including 3 of 10 3-pointers.

Burbank ended its season at 13-13.
