Kyle Terriere poured in a game-high 31 points, and Seattle Academy hung on to escape with a 60-59 consolation-round victory over Chelan on Friday at the Class 1A boys state tournament.

The Goats missed an eight-footer in the closing seconds that could have won the game.

The Cardinals (15-12) will play for fourth and seventh places against Brewster at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Terriere's driving layup with 1:43 to play that gave the Cardinals a 60-58 lead proved to be the game-winner.

Derrick Talley made one of two free throws for Chelan to pull the score to the final margin. Two missed SA free throws with 20 seconds left set up the final Chelan shot.

Terriere made 9 of 17 shots, including 3 of 5 3-pointers. He also was 10-for-11 from the free-throw line. Rian Claxton added 15 points and Patrick McMahon, whose short jumper knotted the score at 58-all with 2:12 remaining, finished with 10.

Chelan's Joe Harris scored 24 points on 10-of-19 shooting before fouling out with 2:33 to play.

Aaron McQuaid chipped in 12 points for the Goats, and Mat Engstrom pulled down 12 rebounds.
