Debbie Molsbarger chipped in 10 of her game-high 15 points in the second half to power Connell to a 42-24 victory in the opening game of the Class 1A girls state tournament Wednesday.

Molsbarger made 5 of 13 shots, including 3 of 8 3-point attempts, for Connell (22-2), which led the entire game.

Eva Grassl pulled down nine rebounds for the Eagles, who dominated the backboards 40-28. She also blocked two shots and had two assists.

Taylor McClennan led Chelan (20-6) with six points, and Jaicee Harris had six rebounds.
