Huge run lifts Lyncs

Lynden Christian posts 35-1 run en route to 59-36 victory

Kenzie De Boer scored 19 of her game-high 23 points during a 35-1 run that lifted Lynden Christian to a 59-36 rout of Onalaska in the consolation bracket Friday at the Class 1A girls state tournament.

The Lyncs (23-4) trailed 8-0 before De Boer sank a free throw with 3:50 to play in the first quarter. That launched an amazing scoring run that lasted to the 5:37 mark in the third quarter, when Onalaska's Amber Durand sank a 3-pointer.

In between, the Lyncs rolled off 16 straight points to open the streak and 19 to close it, sandwiched around a Durand free throw.

The win sends the Lyncs into Saturday's noon contest for fourth and seventh places.

De Boer pulled down a game-high eight rebounds and added eight steals.

LC shot 47 percent (25 of 53) for the game to Onalaska' 30 percent (12 of 40).

Durand finished with 13 points for the Loggers, who ended their year at 16-10.
