Lyncs roll to 4th place

Lynden Christian cruises past Bellevue Christian, 55-39

Kayleigh Ryan scored 15 points as third-ranked Lynden Christian cruised to a 55-39 victory over Bellevue Christian on Saturday for fourth place in the Class 1A girls state tournament.

The Lyncs (24-4) rolled out to a 30-12 halftime lead, and extended the margin to 30 points (48-18) in the third quarter. After that, the Vikings never got closer than the final margin.

LC shot 50 percent (20 of 40) for the game, and made 56 percent (10 of 18) in the second half. Bellevue Christian hit 28 percent (15 of 54) of its shots, with just 5 of 24 in the first half.

Kenzie De Boer added 13 points and a game-high eight rebounds for the Lyncs, who earned their 26th trophy. LC won the title last year.

Terra Oldham scored 13 points and Michelle Teng had 12 for the Vikings (22-5).
