Curlew turns back NSC
Wakefield scores 18 to lead Cougars' 38-34 victory

Jordon Wakefield poured in 18 points and pulled down 18 rebounds as
Curlew held off a late charge to beat North Sound Christian 38-34 in the
first round of the Class 1B boys state tournament Wednesday.
NSC trailed by 10 points midway through the third quarter, but trimmed
Curlew's lead to 35-34 on a field goal by Daron Otis with 53 seconds to
play. Ethan Mannick made a layup with 29 seconds left, and Tanner Somday
added a free throw with three seconds left to seal the win for Curlew.
Wakefield converted 8 of 14 shots. Mannick finished with 10 points.
Otis led the Lions with 13 points.
