Justyne Talkington scored 13 points and Katlyn Lowman added 12 as Sprague-Harrington turned back Moses Lake Christian 31-26 in the opening game of the Class 1B girls state tournament Wednesday.

Talkington scored nine of her points in the first half, and Lowman had eight of hers in the second half.

Lowman pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.

Esther Timofeyev had a game-high 15 points and a game-high 17 rebounds for Moses Lake Christian. She also had six steals and fie blocked shots

The Lions trailed by as many as 10 points in the first half, but cut the margin to three points twice in the third quarter. However, they hurt their cause with 23 turnovers.
