Van Lith lifts SJE, 54-43

Kelly Van Lith scored 13 of her team-high 20 points after halftime to lead St. John-Endicott to a 54-43 quarterfinal victory over Lummi in the Class 1B girls state tournament Thursday.

The Eagles (18-4) advance to Friday's 8 p.m. semifinals.

Trisha Luft added 11 points and Alyssa FitzGerald nine. SJE trailed early, but overtook Lummi in the second quarter and never looked back.

Kadee McCanna led SJE's rebounding effort with 11, while Van Lith and Luft each snared 10 rebounds.

Sarah Brady scored 22 points and Kyla Frajman grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Lummi (20-3).
