ACH takes fifth, 39-30

Warriors hold off late Neah Bay charge for ninth trophy

Sarah Gloyn scored 10 points as Almira/Coulee-Hartline held off Neah Bay 39-30 Saturday to capture fifth place in the Class 1B girls state tournament.

ACH, which finished its year at 24-2, earned its ninth trophy in 13 state appearances, and its second fifth-place finish. Neah Bay (21-3) earned its second trophy in seven state trips.

The Warriors led the entire second half, though Neah Bay trimmed ACH's lead to 22-21 with 1:15 left in the third quarter. But ACH then went on a 7-1 run, capped by Madeline Isaak's 3-pointer to open the fourth quarter, to extend its lead.

Isaak added nine points and Nikki Osborne eight for the Warriors.

Megan Osborne pulled down 11 rebounds and Nikki Osborne added nine as ACH outrebounded Neah Bay 45-38.

Alisha Kallappa led Neay Bay with 11 points, and Stephanie Greene had six rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots and three steals.
