Free throws lift NSC

Washio's three free shots give Lions a 28-25 victory

Lynne Washio sank three free throws in the final 36 seconds to lift North Sound Christian to a 28-25 victory over Mansfield on Wednesday in the Class 1B girls state tournament.

NSC led through most of the game, but never by more than five points. There were five ties and five lead changes; Mansfield took its final lead when Amanda Cook hit a putback that made it 24-23 with 4:54 to play.

Hannah Reymore led NSC with 11 points, and Washio finished with seven.

Jaci Bayless had game-highs of 15 points and 14 rebounds for Mansfield.
