Fife breezes to semis

Brescia scores 16 to lead Trojans past Anacortes, 62-39

Anthony Brescia chipped in a game-high 16 points as Fife pulled away from Anacortes on Thursday for a 62-39 quarterfinal victory in the Class 2A boys state tournament.

Cameron Jayes and Dustin Yarrington added 13 and 12 points, respectively, as the Trojans (18-6) bolted to a 32-21 halftime lead with a 26-point second quarter. Anacortes never got closer than 11 points.

Mackenzie Larkin paced the Seahawks (15-12) with 12 points.

Fife shots 56 percent (25 of 45) for the game, while Anacortes made just 28 percent (11 of 39), including only 4 of 23 shots (17 percent) in the second half.
