Brett Skogstad scored 12 of his game-high 20 points in the first half as fourth-ranked North Mason raced to a 48-30 consolation victory over Sequim in the Class 2A boys state tournament Friday.

The win send the Bulldogs (20-5) into Saturday's 10 a.m. game for fifth and eighth places against Quincy.

John Fullington added 16 points for North Mason, which never trailed in the game.

Skogstad made 6 of 10 shots, including 5 of 9 3-pointers. Fullington made 6 of 7 attempts.

Corbin Webb and Ary Webb led the Wolves (10-16) with eight points each.

The Bulldogs hit 39 percent (16 of 41) of their shots to Sequim's 23 percent (11 of 47).
