Rocky Guimont poured in 18 points as fourth-ranked North Mason cruised past Quincy 54-36 for fifth place at the Class 2A boys state tournament Saturday.

Guimont scored 11 of his points in the first half, when the Bulldogs raced to a 27-10 halftime lead and were never seriously threatened in the second half. He made 5 of 10 shots, including 4 of 9 3-pointers.

Guimont and had five assists and two steals.

The win improved the Bulldogs to 21-5 and matched their 1980 fifth-place finish. NM earned its second trophy in 10 state trips.

Brett Skogstad and John Fullington finished with 15 and 10 points, respectively, for the Bulldogs.

Eric Martin scored 15 points and pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds for Quincy, which ended its year at 18-9. The Jackrabbits' eighth-place finish earned them their 11th trophy in 16 trips to state.

The Jacks outrebounded NM 44-25, but cold shooting plagued them throughout. Quincy shot just 22 percent (11 of 51) for the game to North Mason's 37 percent (14 of 38).
