Allison Walker converted a three-point play with 2:24 to play in the game, and Burlington-Edison's last shot attempt missed as Othello hung on for a 37-36 consolation victory over the Tigers on Thursday in the Class 2A girls state tournament.

Walker, who finished with a game-high 17 points, snapped a 34-34 tie with her layup and foul shot at the 2:24 mark. Brenna Anderson pulled B-E to the final margin with two free throws with 58 seconds left, but the Tigers couldn't tie the game again.

Walker scored 10 of her points in the second half. She made 7 of 12 shots, grabbed 13 rebounds, dished out three assists, blocked two shots and had one steal.

Christine Kirkwood chipped in nine points for the Huskies (17-8).

Anderson finished with a team-high eight points. She and Cambie Edwards pulled down six rebounds each.

The Tigers (17-8) made just 25 percent (13 of 52) of their shots.
