Greyhounds race to win

Cheslek leads Pullman's 56-41 victory with 16 points

Shelby Cheslek scored a game-high 16 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead fifth-ranked Pullman over River Ridge 56-41 on Thursday in the Class 2A girls state tournament consolation bracket.

Erika Hanson added 15 points and Jordan Levenseller 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Greyhounds (21-4), who took the lead for good on a Levenseller free throw with 5:14 to play in the third quarter.

Pullman dominated the boards, outrebounding River Ridge 62-28. Levenseller's total included eight offensive rebounds. Six players had at least five rebounds each.

Samira McDonald led River Ridge (14-11) with 16 points and six rebounds. Jasmine McDonald had five assists.
