Allison Walker and Christine Kirkwood each scored 22 points to lead Othello to fifth place in the Class 2A girls state tournament with a 62-55 win over Pullman on Saturday.

Walker scored nine points in the fourth quarter, including six straight that put the Huskies ahead for good, 48-45, with 4:50 to play.

Justine Villareal iced the game with a free throw with nine seconds left to give the Huskies a 59-55 lead. She finished with seven points.

Walker canned 9 of 15 shots, while Kirkwood sank 6 of 13, including 4 of 7 3-point attempts. Both dished out three assists and grabbed a steal. Defensively, Walker had nine rebounds and Kirkwood eight; Kirkwood blocked four shots and Walker three.

Othello, which ended its year at 19-8, earned its second trophy in its second 2A appearance. The finish is the team's highest.

Pullman's Shelby Cheslek grabbed 10 rebounds and broke the individual tournament record for rebounds with 60. The old mark of 59 was set by Walker in 2008. Cheslek also had three blocks and three steals.

Katie Guettinger scored 13 points to lead the Greyhounds, which ended their year at 22-5. The eighth-place trophy is their seventh trophy in 10 state trips.
