 Elma girls rout Fife, 48-20

Colard scores 19 points as Eagles cruise to victory

Katie Colard poured in 19 points to lead Elma to a 48-20 victory over Fife on Wednesday in the Class 2A girls state tournament.

Brandi Thomas added 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for the Eagles (17-5).

Colard scored 16 of her points in the first half, including 11 in the second quarter, when Elma effectively put the game away with a 21-4 run.

Collard swished 5 of 10 3-point tries and made 7 of 18 shots for the game.

Shelly Kilcup led the Trojans (10-14) with 14 points, and Nikita Rivera grabbed seven rebounds. Brandi Thomas tied the individual game record with seven blocked shots.
