ATM ekes out 47-43 win

Pettinger scores 21 to keep Wildcats perfect at 24-0

Alyssa Smith scored the go-ahead layup with 1:02 to play, and second-ranked and unbeaten Archbishop Murphy eked out a 47-43 win over Pullman in the Class 2A girls state tournament Wednesday.

Smith's layup snapped a 41-41 tie after Pullman battled back from a seven-point deficit midway through the third quarter. A Sam Pettinger basket and two free throws from Nickole Bartholomew closed ATM's scoring.

Pettinger scored a game-high 21 points for the Wildcats (24-0), and Shelby Lyman added 10.

Jordan Levenseller led the Greyhounds (20-4) with 13 points, and Shelby Cheslek pulled down 14 rebounds.
