Nooksack tops Ilwaco
Impero scores 23 points to lead Pioneers' 69-49 victory

Kyle Impero poured in 23
points on 8-of-11 shooting as Nooksack Valley rolled to a 69-49
consolation victory over Ilwaco in the Class 1A boys state tournament
Thursday.
Jesse Salmonson added
15 points and Evan Roller 11 as the Pioneers (15-12) used 55 percent
field-goal shooting to race past the Fishermen (12-14).
Salmonson hit 7 of 10
shots and Roller 5 of 6.
Roller and Anthony
Reese each pulled down eight rebounds as the Pioneers battled to a 40-31
rebounding edge.
Besides its
double-figure scorers, NV also benefitted from 22 points from its bench.
Karl Oman scored 18
points and Bobby Byrd grabbed 13 rebounds for Ilwaco.
