Cougars power to semis
Tuttle, Shackett lift Cascade Christian to 37-27 victory

T.J. Tuttle and Cody
Shackett each scored 10 points to lead fifth-ranked Cascade Christian to
a 37-27 quarterfinal victory over Onalaska in the Class 1A boys state
tournament Thursday.
The Cougars (22-3) led
throughout, opening a 16-point advantage (31-15) midway through the
third quarter and never leading by fewer than eight points in the second
half.
Johnny Tveter added
eight points in the second half.
Dalton Ritchey scored
11 points for Onalaska (25-1), and Jeff Swett had seven points and 10
rebounds.
The Cougars' defense
came up with 12 steals -- three each from Jonnie Washburn, Tuttle and
Shackett -- and helped force the Loggers into 22 turnovers. CC turned
those miscues into 19 points.
