Scotties turn back NV
Vold leads Freeman to 58-45 first-round win with 17 points

Taylor Vold poured in a
game-high 17 points as seventh-ranked Freeman rolled to a 58-45 victory
over Nooksack Valley in the first round of the Class 1A boys state
tournament Wednesday.
Vold hit 9 of 20 shots
and scored 11 points after halftime as the Scotties (19-5) slowly pulled
away.
Peter Heinen added 17
point for Freeman, which never trailed and shot 59 percent (10 of 17) in
the second half.
Anthony Reese paced
the Pioneers (14-12) with 14 points and Kyle Impero added 12.
Overall, the Scotties
shot 48 percent (21 of 44) while NV hit 37 percent (21 of 57).
