Lexi Petersen poured in 17 points to lift No. 1-ranked Seattle Christian to a 44-29 consolation victory over Vashon in the Class 1A girls state tournament Friday.

The Warriors put the game out of reach with a 13-2 run in the third quarter. Vashon hit a trey at the third-quarter buzzer, but SC opened the fourth with a trey.

Petersen sank 6 of 14 shots and 5 of 8 free-throw attempts. Katie Collier added 11 points.

The Warriors (23-3) pulled down 56 rebounds to Vashon's 33. Collier grabbed a game-high 22 boards.

SC advances to Saturday's 10 a.m. for fifth or eighth place.

Kelly Costello scored eight points to lead the Pirates
(19-9). Kiki Means added six.
