Jasmine Hommes poured in a game-high 18 points to lead Lynden Christian to a 35-29 victory over Connell and third place in the Class 1A girls state tournament.

The Lyncs (24-4) won their 27th trophy -- including their sixth straight -- in 30 state trips.

Despite leading by no more than 12 at any time, the Lyncs were in charge throughout until the final minutes, when Connell rallied to pull within 31-29 with 1:50 to play on a free throw by Laryn Wells.

But Hommes followed with a pair of free throws, Kayleigh Ryan sank a free throw and Hommes sank another to close the scoring.

Hommes pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds.

Kayla Bjorge led Connell (18-10) with eight points.

The Eagles earned their 18th trophy in 25 state trips.
