Miller leads SJE's victory
Senior scores 19 points in Eagles' 59-43 opening win

Warren Miller poured in
a team-high 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead St. John-Endicott
to a 59-43 first-round victory over Tulalip Heritage in the Class 1B
boys state tournament Wednesday.
Miller, averaging 13.3
points per game, sank 8 of 16 shots, and also had two assists and a
blocked shot. Teammates Dylan Schmick and Cole McCanna chipped in 14 and
11 points, respectively.
SJE (14-11) built a
20-10 lead after the first quarter, and TH (13-11) never got closer than
three points the rest of the way.
SJE shot 54 percent (14 of 26) in the second half while pulling away,
and led by 16 points (54-38) late in the game.
Shawn Comenote led the Hawks with 22 points on 8-of-9 shooting,
including four 3-pointers. James Whitebear added 10 points.
