Elks hold off Knights
Pumphrey leads Lake Quinault to 49-40 victory

Cameron Pumphrey scored
a game-high 15 points as Lake Quinault advanced to the Class 1B boys
state trophy round with a 49-40 victory over King's Way Christian on
Friday.
The win sends the Elks
(17-9) into Saturday's 8:30 a.m. game for fifth and eighth places. The
Elks finished eighth last year for their first 1B trophy.
Cameron Daniels added
13 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for LQ, which jetted to a
31-15 halftime lead. The Knights never got closer than the final margin.
Sean Russell scored
nine points and Andrew Willson eight for the Knights, who finished their
season at 10-14.
