Warriors hand Rosalia second-straight defeat
TOURNEYTOWN.COM
Derek Isaak scored a
game-high 25 points as Almira/Coulee-Hartline eliminated top-ranked
Rosalia, 53-44, from the Class 1B boys state tournament Friday.
Rosalia, which entered
the tournament undefeated, lost back-to-back games Thursday and Friday
and finished its season without a trophy after being ranked No. 1 most
of the season. The Spartans ended at 23-2.
ACH led most of the
second half, allowing Rosalia to take only a brief lead, 44-43, on a
3-pointer by Damian Loucks with 2:08 to play. But ACH's Cody Jess
quickly answered with a layup that pushed the Warriors ahead to stay.
That basket started an
11-0 run that closed the scoring.
Kody Dillon scored 11
points and Jess 10 for ACH. Kye Stevens pulled down eight rebounds.
Jim Maley led Rosalia
with 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Nathan Richards also grabbed 11
rebounds.
