Neah Bay races to win

Red Devils will play for fifth place Saturday

Rebecca Thompson scored 13 points and Ardus Pullen added 10 to lift Neah Bay to a 63-22 consolation win over King's Way-Seton on Friday in the Class 1B girls state tournament.

The victory sends the Red Devils (23-1) into Saturday's game for fifth and eighth places. Neah Bay previously has won two eighth-place trophies.

Neah Bay raced out to a 12-4 lead after the first quarter, and the score never got closer.

Thompson also finished with four assists and a game-high seven steals.

Edrienne Chan led King's Way-Seton (8-15) with seven points, and Cheyenne Cunning grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.

The Knights were playing in their first-ever state tournament.

Neah Bay shot 41 percent (29 of 70), while the Knights made just 19 percent (8 of 42) of their shots.
