Hot shooting leads Lynden over Deer Park in quarterfinals

Lynden's seventh-ranked
Lions used 55 percent shooting to cruise past Deer Park 59-31 on
Thursday in the Class 2A boys state quarterfinals.
Jake DeWitt and Blair
Bomber each scored 11 points for the Lions (21-5), who converted 25 of
45 shots (56 percent), including a whopping 70 percent (14 of 20) in the
second half.
Ryan Seto also chipped
in 10 points for Lynden, and Andrew Blair sank three 3-pointers.
Uconn Peone scored 11
points for the Stags (16-8), who made just 21 percent (9 of 43) of their
shots -- just 2 of 22 in the second half.
Lynden took the lead
for good in the first quarter and put the game away with a 19-7 run over
the third period. Nyles Varner scored six of his eight during that
stretch.
