Tigers rout WV, 62-43
Simon's 21 points power Ephrata into semifinals

Patrick Simon poured in
a game-high 21 points to lead second-ranked Ephrata to a 62-43
quarterfinal victory over West Valley of Spokane on Thursday in the
Class 2A boys state tournament.
Simon made 8 of 22
shots, including 3 of 11 3-point tries, as the Tigers (22-2) slowly
built their lead in the second half.
Ross Buchert chipped
in 10 points for Ephrata.
The Tigers' defense
pushed WV into 15 turnovers, which it converted into 20 points. Buchert
and Bryce Todd each came away with two steals.
Simon pulled down nine
rebounds, blocked three shots and had a steal.
Matt Roth led the
Eagles (16-9) with 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Brady Bagby added 10
points.
The Tigers advance to
Friday's 7:30 p.m. semifinal.
