Baker boys
beat Bantams
Free throws down the stretch secure 70-64 victory

Taylor Engles scored 14
points, and Mount Baker rallied back from an early 15-point deficit to
beat Clarkston 70-64 on Friday in the Class 2A boys state consolation
bracket.
The win sends the
Mountaineers (17-10) into Saturday's 8:30 a.m. game for fifth and eighth
places against Grandview.
Zach Stalin and
Anderson Bass each chipped in 13 points for MB.
A pair of Bass free
throws with 6:15 to play in the game pushed the Mountaineers into the
lead for good, 51-49. Clarkston cut the deficit to one point three
times, but MB made nine free throws over the final 2:07 to seal the win.
Caleb Buchanan and
Spencer Backstrom each pulled down eight rebounds for the Mountaineers,
who outrebounded Clarkston 47-36.
Chanse Brownell scored
19 points and Dustin McConnell added 11 for the Bantams (17-8).
