Fife holds off Stags
Trojans turn back late Deer Park rally for 55-51 victory

Maazin Butler's 15
points helped Fife hold off Deer Park on Friday for a 55-51 consolation
victory in the Class 2A boys state tournament.
The Trojans (22-5) led
all but the game's early going, and had a 10-point lead (50-40) with
4:15 to play. But Deer Park went on a 10-3 run, capped by Uconn Peone's
3-pointer with 42 seconds left that made it 53-51.
Butler hit a putback
with 15 seconds left to seal the win.
Cameron Hayes added 10
points for Fife. Butler and Jack Murrey each grabbed five rebounds.
Kendall Peone led the
Stags (16-9) with 15 points, and Uconn Peone added 13. Tevin Heins
pulled down 13 of the Stags' 41 rebounds.
