probably get them. Consider this: The 18 teams scheduled to take the

The nine teams traveling to Yakima for the
Shootout have posted an even more impressive combined total, winning 85

That's not to say there haven't been a few
surprises over the past few days.
River Ridge's girls, who face Lewis and Clark at
1:30 p.m. Monday, lost to Roosevelt 43-39 on Saturday in KeyArena and
saw their 12-game season-long winning streak snapped. LC enters the
contest 10-0 after a 63-47 victory over Mead on Saturday.
Nooksack Valley's boys, always a Class 2A state
contender, beat Whatcom County League favorite Lynden Christian 44-39 in
overtime Thursday night and currently sit atop that always-tough league.
The Pioneers, 10-2 with a six-game winning streak, will face Grandview
(9-1) at 10:15 a.m. Monday.
South Kitsap's boys roll into town with a 10-1
record and a four-game winning streak, and will face a 4-6 Mead team.
Brewster's boys and girls roll in with identical
10-1 records. The boys, who will face unbeaten Naches Valley (10-0) at 6
p.m., lost their first game of the season before ticking of 10 straight
victories. The girls, who meet La Salle (9-2) in the Shootout opener at
8:30 a.m., have won eight straight.

Valley, are 12-4 with a two-game winning streak. Mark Morris, which will
