S. Kitsap swamps Mead
Neloms, Sweet lead Wolves' 81-62 victory

J.P. Neloms and Ryan Sweet led five South Kitsap
players in double-figure scoring as the Wolves powered past Mead 81-62
in the Tourneytown.com Shootout on Monday in the SunDome.
Neloms and Sweet each finished with 15 points;
Neloms scoring eight in the first half, and Sweet chipping in 10 after
intermission.
Joe Pisa added 11 points and Conner Gehring and
Josh Monagle scored 10 each as South Kitsap improved to 11-1.
The Wolves jumped to a 15-0 lead less than three
minutes into the game behind four points each from Neloms and Sweet.
Brendan Ingebritsen led Mead (4-7) with 15 points
and Ben Loewen added 10. The Panthers closed their deficit to three
points, 23-20, on a 3-point play by Loewen, but couldn't get any closer.
The Panthers hurt their own effort with 25
turnovers, including 15 in the first half. South Kitsap, meanwhile,
swiped 12 steals. |
