Eisenhower coach Chris Cook usually is in bed by
the time his girls beat Southridge on Monday night.
In a game that ended about 11:15 p.m., the Cadets
overcame playing the nightcap of the Tourneytown.com Shootout for a
46-34 nonleague victory Monday in the SunDome.
Many of the players on both sides looked ready for
a nap when the final horn sounded. “I
would’ve been in bed an hour and a half ago,” said Cook, whose team
improves to 5-8. “The girls sat aroound watching so many games that they
probably were a little stiff.” Audrey
Starr led the Cadets with 12 points, and Mikaela Easter posted a
double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds. From there, the defense shut
down the Suns as they finished 10 of 60 from the field. Eisenhower
grabbed plenty of the errant shots as Jessica Bush also had 11 boards.
No Southridge player finished in double figures.
Malerie Pitt had nine points, and Heather Worley led the Suns (2-11) on
the boards with 16 and just missed the double-double with eight points.
