Slagg's second free throw attempt missed the mark, and Toppenish's Toni Stauffer pulled down the rebound. After a timeout, the Wildcats were unable to maneuver for a final shot before time expired. Slagg finished with 13 points, and teammate Jode Anderson had a game-high 15 points for the Spartans, who twice built 11-point leads in the first half but were unable to shake Toppenish. The Wildcats, led by Crystal Ramirez's 10 points, edged ahead for their only lead of the game when Tiffany Yallup drove for a layup with 5:52 to play in the third quarter for a 28-27 advantage.
