RC's Crusade Is Successful
Riverside Christian won
its first state volleyball championship, beating Almira/Coulee-Hartline for
the Class B title. The Crusaders won 23-25, 25-15, 25-18, 26-24.

Kittitas Obtains Its
Goal
The Kittitas Coyotes had one simple goal at the
beginning of the 2003 volleyball season: to bring home a state trophy.
Accomplishing that, though, would be anything but simple. So they did what
they had to do. Whatever was necessary.

Clark Sisters Leave
Their Mark
Volleyball was the
first love of their older sister and their mother, but Bailee and Kami Clark
came grudgingly to the game in which they have helped Almira/Coulee-Hartline
become a Class B powerhouse. Or else they’ve loved it since the start.

Woodland’s powerful net
attack and tenacious defense derailed Chelan’s dream of a state title one
game short for a second straight year as the Beavers captured the Class 2A
state title in the SunDome, 25-16, 25-14, 25-16.

-- played out less than 20 feet apart in the spacious SunDome -- were a tale
of four women. Three of them -- Chelan’s Sarah Schramm, and Riverside
Christian standouts Erin Shively and Sharelle Wells -- were teens battling
for what all high school volleyball players dream of -- a state
championship. Pacing on the periphery was a woman old enough to be their
mother who had played a significant -- if brief --- for all of them in the
formative years of their careers..

first match of the day before falling to Bellevue Christian in the game for
